I
purchased this Jetta because I had a passion for German cars. It was
bought as an automatic and quickly swapped to a 5-speed manual.
However, in 2006 the engine hydro locked on my way home on the Don
Shula Expressway. Insurance was good to me and allowed me to put in
another VR6 Motor. I almost gave up on the car and was close to
trading it in until I quickly fell in love with the power of the VR6
engine once again. Later in the year I was able to pick up the
Staggered Oettinger Wheels from an old friend and quickly put them
on. From the beginning I always had a thing for the Oettinger kit so
towards November I purchased the Oettinger Spoiler kit from
www.performance-cafe.com. I took my car over to Body Tech in Miami,
FL on NW 58th Street and had it installed which then made me want to
make a smaller addition of the charcoal color that Emilio, the owner
of the shop, decided to add to the hood/grille. I was a big hit at
HIN Miami 2006 as well as the rest of the car club (SPCC305) but we
could have been better. Nopi Drift/Car show in Miami 2007 at
Dolphins Stadium I ran into someone selling a turbo kit that he had
removed off of his VR6. Given to me at an excellent price, it was
later installed at TBK Performance and finalized at Kens VW Repair
in Perrine, FL. Friend and Mechanic, Dave (family of Ken) installed
my Intake Manifold, Injectors, Software, and completed the car. I
went to a dyno at USP Motorsports in Coral Springs and pulled a
267whp with 245tq on 6psi, stock clutch, waste gate leak, and stock
fuel pump. I decided I needed to fix the waste gate and add a fuel
pump so went ahead and did so, but also added a manual boost
controller and I’m set at 9psi, pushing 333.5whp and 335.9tq. It’s
been a big step for me since I began with just aftermarket
taillights, eyelids and tints but I made it to where I am at because
of a few people. One is my good friend Jay, who made me try on one
Oettinger wheels, I fell in love with it, and traded my Audi RS4
wheels that were bought on eBay, then felt I needed the spoiler kit
to finish the touch. Well it didn’t, the front bumper looked as if
it needed something, so the turbo came along and I added that plus
the intercooler from ABD Racing. Second Person I wish to thank is
Dave from Kens VW who has been an amazing friend and help towards
everything on my car. He has always been there when my car has had a
problem.
